Accommodation Information
Parklands College Secondary Campus is an easy, 10-minute Uber ride from Bloubergstrand area beaches (though during the morning commute, allow more time to book the Uber). There are a number of hotels and guests houses nearby that offer easy access to the conference. We recommend staying on the west side of Marine Drive/R27, in Bloubergstrand, Big Bay. Alternatively, the FlamingoVlei neighbourhood just south of Blouberg Blvd is a good option.
Both the Blauwberg Beach area and Big Bay provide plenty of restaurant options, some within safe walking distance from nearby accommodation.
Note: Friday and Saturday morning you'll be greeted with a light breakfast (mini-muffin or mini-quiche), coffee, and tea, but if you need a full breakfast to get through the morning, you might want to book a B&B that offers breakfast.
When we travel, we rely on Booking.com, which has a number of options and lists by price.
You can search by destination, add your dates, and indicate the number of guests and room you need.
Once you get some results, click the 'Show on map' button to see venues by location.
You'll need to create an account and book with a credit card.
You'll also want to download the app to access your booking once it's complete.
Another option is to look for AirBnB accommodation. We suggest selecting one that displays positive (4+) reviews, and has a significant number of reviews, like the example here.
Along Rietvlei Nature Reserve, in Flamingo Vlei, you'll find two lovely guest houses. While these are not as close to the beach, but both are quiet and face the quiet nature reserve and some rooms have stunning Table Mountain views:
