AI in Education - How? What? Why?!?

So, hands up, who's not heard of ChatGPT? I don’t suspect that many hands will go up. Artificial intelligence - It’s certainly taken the world by storm. But to many, it can feel like we’ve watched an awful lot of Hollywood movies telling us just why we shouldn’t be doing this! Right?! Hasta la vista?!

It’s a really exciting time to be in education. For the first time, educators have a magnificent array of tools at their disposal that will help to enhance classroom instruction to the next level!

In this workshop, we’ll take a deep dive into the world of AI and the impact it will have on education. What do we need to look out for? We’ll address some of the concerns. But more importantly, how can we leverage this behemoth of digital innovation in education? How can we take the power of AI and bring it to our classrooms to help transform our practice? How we can spark our own creativity using AI and how we can help students to spark their own creativity and amplify their voice.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have gained practical skills and knowledge on how to leverage AI technologies in your own teaching practice. You'll also have a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges that AI presents in education, and how to navigate them effectively.

Cybersecurity and Online Safety in the Classroom

In a post-pandemic world, where our usage of technology has leapt exponentially, we have to ask some very challenging questions of ourselves. Do school leaders understand the very real and detrimental threat that we face around cyber attacks? Why does cyber security matter? What is a cyber attack? What do you need to look out for? What are the risks? Where is your data stored? Is it secure? Is it backed up? What happens if my school is a victim of a cyber attack?

We’ll look at online safety and understanding the vital role in helping to keep our school communities safe online in a world. More specifically, we’ll explore popular online platforms (such as TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat etc) and identify the key challenges in helping to keep children safe whilst they’re using these platforms.

The workshop will aim to highlight the dangers and the sometimes uncomfortable changes teachers need to address and make, to ensure that we’re all staying as safe and as secure as possible in an ever evolving digital world. We will:
