Let's Go with Canva Next Steps! [advanced]
The number one design tool for teachers across the world is Canva (and it’s free for education too!) We will look at how to use Canva to supercharge your classrooms, utilise AI in a safe and meaningful way + utilise Whiteboards for group collaboration. You will leave with a ready to use designed resource (presentation, worksheet, video or similar) that you can share with colleagues or students.
Asking Better Questions with The Ideas Guy Framework
Using The Ideas Guy cards, we will help frame strong questions to elicit great ideas. Using a tried and tested strategy, we will look at how ideas are formed and framed to create resources, embed learning, lead better meetings, and encourage innovation. You will build a portfolio of questions and techniques to take into your ongoing work with students and colleagues.
AI Implementation
This workshop explores practical approaches to implementing AI across curricula and operations. We'll examine ethical AI integration, focusing on enhancing teaching and learning while maintaining academic integrity. Participants will evaluate some AI tools, develop AI school use policies, and look at risks associated with using or ignoring these tools!
Participants will create an AI Integration Plan including:
Department-specific AI tools inventory
Implementation timeline and milestones
Student guidance documentation
Professional development recommendations
Prioritising Inclusivity
In this workshop, we'll explore Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles and design thinking to create inclusive classroom environments. Participants will examine how to adapt teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs, considering cognitive, physical, and sensory differences among students. We'll focus on proactive course design that eliminates barriers and provides multiple means of engagement, representation, and expression.
Participants will develop an Inclusive Design Toolkit containing:
Customised UDL checklist for lesson planning
Collection of inclusive teaching strategies matched to common barriers
Resource guide for accessibility tools and accommodations
Template for student feedback on accessibility needs
This practical toolkit will serve as a ready reference for implementing inclusive practices in their classrooms and sharing strategies with colleagues.
